Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Contracting Authority is seeking to establish a Performance Related Partnering (PRP) Framework Agreement. The PRP Framework will consist of an initial project (Replacement Adult Mental Health Inpatient Facility) with a potential for subsequent call-off of further construction contracts within a 4 year period with an estimated aggregated works cost of GBP 35 000 000 subject to satisfactory performance. The initial project is for the construction of a new Replacement Mental Health Inpatient Facility located on a ‘brownfield’ site within the Belfast City Hospital site. This facility will be single storey through-out (with the exception of roof void engineering services distribution and plantroom space), approximately 8,380 sq m gross floor area and will contain wards, therapy space, service space, clinical support, administration and other support areas. Each ward will link to a landscaped courtyard. The duration of the initial project will be 104 weeks from the award of the contract to practical completion. At present there is no subsequent project planned or funded under this Framework. However, if circumstances arise, a potential subsequent project may be awarded under the Framework subject to: satisfactory performance of the contractor; a suitable project being sufficiently developed; funding; Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety approval; statutory approvals and at the discretion of the Trust. It is intended that – should there be any further works – subject to the conditions and discretion noted above – then (if instructed within a 4 year period) a subsequent project may be procured on a Performance Related Partnering basis as an extension to this process. All this work will be in close proximity to the live operational hospital and also operational facilities that form part of the Queens University Belfast.
