Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The aim of the service is to provide support to vulnerable people, at risk of homelessness, in order for them to sustain their tenancy and live independently through a range of interventions focused on:
– Crisis intervention – Where a person is in imminent danger of losing or being unable to manage their accommodation.
– Short term tenancy sustainment – where the person needs support to ensure that they can maintain their tenancy.
– Longer term tenancy sustainment when a person is more vulnerable and needs longer term support.
– Pre tenancy work. Where the person has no suitable accommodation and support is needed to find this.
– Resettlement. Where a person is moving into new accommodation for example moving on from supported accommodation, hospital, prison or other institution.
The service will be delivered across the geographical boundaries of Blackpool in a range of locations including service users own homes, including all tenures. Priority for support will be given to service users with a local connection to Blackpool. The service will be available to all service users including:
– Young people at risk (aged 16 – 25 years) including teenage parents;
– People at risk of offending, including high risk offenders;
– Families or single people at risk of becoming homeless, including rough sleepers;
– People leaving supported housing, hospitals, prisons or other institutions;
– People with mental health conditions;
– People with drug/alcohol issues;
– Women escaping domestic abuse;
– People with a range of complex needs.
