United Kingdom-Bristol: Patient-transport vehicles – Framework Lead

The current contract for Patient-transport vehicles – Framework Lead is projected to end on 18-FEB-21 and may be available for retender. BWPC RA7 – Provision of PICU NICU Emergency Transport.
University Hospital Bristol NHS foundation Trust are looking for a provider to assist its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with the emergency transport of patients, associated staff and parent/guardian to referring hospitals within the UK and return journeys to University Hospital Bristol.
The successful provider will be expected to be able to carry Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) transfers and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) transfers per annum. 40 % of both PICU and NICU journeys occur outside office hours 9:00-17:00 Monday-Friday.
Western Acute Transport for Children (WATCh) serves approximately 1 500 000 children within South West England and South Wales, providing 24 hour support for 25 hospital sites.
The Contractor will be required to supply a minimum of 4 intensive care ambulances during the day and 3 during the night, designed to deal with a variety of intensive care patients.
Vehicles used to transport patients must be constructed to manufacturers’ recommendations and meet the EC and UK legislation in terms of road-worthiness and conforms to current Motor Vehicle (Construction and Use) Regulations.
