Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Contractor will provide a broad ranging and flexible Car Park and Traffic Management service which supports the smooth operation of the University’s core education role. The duties required are very varied in their nature, in volume and in the timing of demands.
The key service objectives are:
– To support the University in its core activities;
– To provide a flexible and responsive service;
– To optimise the use of the parking facilities;
– To ensure that access is maintained for contractors and emergency vehicles;
– To recommend and implement alternative, imaginative and more cost-effective and efficient approaches to providing the services;
– To enhance the liaison and reporting procedures with the University;
– To ensure that staff, visitors and students can safely utilise the car parks during the day and the night;
– To prevent unauthorised parking on the sites;
– To control the safe access and movement of vehicles.
Car parking equipment at each site must be capable of control from any of the individual sites, or a separate location. This includes data, intercom, barrier control and all reporting and alarm functions.
This tender is to replace the existing system to be installed at Jordanstown, Coleraine, Magee and Belfast. The system should also allow for future expansion on further sites without price penalty. The system should be capable of unlimited expansion and be of modular design.
Installation of equipment will start 8 weeks from agreed contract commencement date and will be complete by 1.8.2015.
