The current contract for Health and social work services – Framework Lead is projected to end on 18-APR-19 and may be available for retender. Any Qualified Provider (AQP)
The Primary Care Psychological Therapies (PCPT) service will be a community based service, building firmly on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme ().
The Primary Care Psychological Therapies (PCPT) service will be a community based service, building firmly on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme ().
It will offer a range of evidence based psychological interventions including NICE approved/recommended psychological therapies in line with relevant clinical guidance; associated with improved service user outcomes and recovery rates.
The Primary Care Psychological Therapies service will deliver a Step 2, Step 3 and ‘Step 3 Plus’ model where time limited, psychological therapies is likely to have a positive outcome for the individual.
The diagnostic groups likely to benefit from PCPT approaches include the following:
Traditional IAPT services:
– Depression (including antenatal and postnatal);
– Generalised anxiety disorder;
– Mixed depression and anxiety;
– Panic disorder;
– Obsessive-compulsive disorder;
– Health anxiety (Hypochondriasis);
– Post-traumatic stress disorder;
– Phobias (including social anxiety disorder and social phobias).
IAPT ‘Plus’ services:
– Adjustment disorders;
– Anger management;
– Mild learning disability or cognitive impairment;
– Personality disorder (not severe);
– Other comorbid mental health conditions (e.g. non-acute or stable psychosis);
– Eating disorders (mild-to-moderate).
Depression or anxiety in adults with a chronic physical health problem (long term condition)or medically unexplained symptoms.
