Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Contractor will provide an outlet for the screening, crushing and recycling of segregated inert (non-reactive) material arising from Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Council’s operations. This material has been segregated for reuse or recycling. To receive source segregated inert material and to screen and crush the material as appropriate and process the material for reuse or recycling. The material will mainly comprise non-reactive uncontaminated inerts including but not restricted to brick, stone, concrete, rubble, soils, tiles, and crockery. To liaise with staff from the respective council department or representatives acting on the Council’s behalf to ensure the efficient and timely receipt of the inert material. In line with the objectives of the Zero Waste Plan, to maximise the quality and amount of material(s) reused or recycled, thereby minimising the amount of material going to landfill. To minimise the overall environmental impact and cost of the service by maximising the receipt of the source material, including minimising the number of vehicle movements and handling operations for materials. Provide and encourage appropriate training for all workers employed in the service to ensure safe, efficient handling and a high level of customer service. Monitor service provision and customer satisfaction. To be alert to opportunities to develop services to maximise the opportunity for income received for the material delivered.
