Short breaks for children and young people with disabilities is to enable parents and carers to undertake their caring role more effectively whilst their children enjoy fun and stimulating activities that contribute to their individual outcomes. Short breaks will improve outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and improve family resilience to enable families to remain together and reduce the need for children and young people with disabilities to be looked after full-time in residential placements outside the Borough.
