The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries and work with 100 countries across the globe in managing innovative programmes in the arts, English language, education and civil society. The British Council has adopted a major new strategy to embed good evaluation practice and to transform the way it undertakes monitoring and evaluation in all of its work. This will enable us to generate high-quality evidence of our impact (even in hard-to-measure areas) and ensure that lessons are learned and shared. We have recently set up a Results and Evidence Framework for the whole organisation, which is narrative based around key areas of delivery.
