United Kingdom-London: Support for Enforcing Tobacco Control Legislation – Recurrent Lead
The current contract for Support for Enforcing Tobacco Control Legislation – Recurrent Lead is projected to end on 31-MAR-23 and may be available for retender. Department of Health and Social Care wishes to appoint a supplier to provide national support for local authority tobacco regulatory services initially for 2 years and 6 months from October 2018.
National (England) support for local authority regulatory activities on tobacco control is intended to ensure a consistent and proportionate approach to tobacco enforcement and compliance building across the country, working with businesses and local authority enforcement officers to better understand and effectively implement the laws as intended.
This approach is consistent with the better regulation agenda and is supported by tobacco retailers, in particular those with businesses across a number of different local authority areas. Holding enforcement powers is not a requirement for this role as enforcement is a matter for individual local authorities.
