Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Lot 1 – Lync Equipment.
This Lot will cover the supply of new Lync compatible Hardware to support the Migration currently scheduled to take place between December 2014 and August 2015.
The current high level timelines call for the replacement of our current telecommunications handsets, with a mixed estate of Lync compatible Handsets/Headsets, between December 2014 and August 2015.
Whilst a full verification process is still to take place, a current estimate of a mixed deployment of 3500 Handsets/Headsets across our sites in the UK would be a fair summary.
For clarity the back end Lync infrastructure is being installed by one of Home Group’s strategic partners, and this Equipment lot will be specifically for the Handset and Headset equipment only.
Lot 2 – IS Hardware Framework
Future provision of all on-going requirements following delivery of Lot 1, to include: Lync compatible equipment, tablets, workstations, peripheral equipment, audio-visual equipment, and consumables such as keyboards, monitors etc.
In support of primary hardware requirement, these services include but are not limited to:
– Close to the box services (configuration, imaging devices, delivery-to-desk/server room, installation),
– Stock holding and consignment stock,
– Any other necessary services that will not constitute the delivery of a managed service,
– Warranty services including extended warranty provision; maintenance and support of hardware purchased.
All bidders that are successfully appointed onto the framework will be invited to submit responses to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) as part of a mini competition on an ad-hoc basis.
Lot 3 – User Migration & Installation
This Lot is for the provision of resource to cover the installation of equipment acquired under Lot 1 and new Desktop Hardware across the Home Group estate.
The Desktop Equipment Refresh requirement will be published as a separate tender. The following extract is from the PQQ:
“This will support the on-going supply (including standard imaging as provided by Home Group) of new Desktop Hardware Equipment, which will be of a specification to support Windows 8.1 as well as additional specifications to be defined at a later date.
The current high level timelines call for the refresh of the Desktop Estate to take place from December 2014 to August 2015.
Whilst a full verification process is still to take place, a current estimate of a mixed estate of 3500 Desktops/Laptops being deployed across our sites in the UK would be a fair summary. However, due to growth initiatives that Home Group are currently bidding for, this number may increase. More specific figures will be defined within the ITT documentation, the above is a guide.
Please note: tablet devices are excluded from this tender.
