Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Background
This is the re-tendering of the existing Salon Equipment and Furniture Framework Agreement. The agreement was originally let in 2010 and was split into 2 lots i.e. Lot 1 Hair Salon Equipment and Furniture and Lot 2 Beauty Salon Equipment and Furniture.
Spend through the existing framework for Salon Equipment and Furniture from 13.12.2010 to 31.7.2014 is in excess of GBP 14 000 000.
Summary of Requirement
Lot 1 Hair Salon Equipment and Furniture of the new framework will require the awarded suppliers to be able to supply a range of hairdressing salon supplies including but not limited to hairdressing equipment and furniture to our member Institutions for the use of academic departments and / or any relevant courses run by our member institutions. This lot is to include installation of hair salon equipment and furniture where required by the member institution.
The products listed are intended for teaching salons within the educational institutions so a careful balance must be drawn between quality and price. Products should therefore be of reasonable quality, attractive and easy for students to work with.
Lot 2 Beauty Salon Equipment and Furniture of the new framework will require the awarded suppliers to be able to supply a range of salon supplies including but not limited to beauty equipment and furniture to our member Institutions for the use of academic departments and / or any relevant courses run by our member institutions. This lot is to include installation of beauty salon equipment and furniture where required by the member institution.
The products listed are intended for teaching salons within the educational institutions so a careful balance must be drawn between quality and price. Products should therefore be of reasonable quality, attractive and easy for students to work with.
Lot 3 Salon Equipment Service, Repair and Maintenance of this framework will encompass any requirements the member institutions might have in regards to servicing, maintenance, repair or overhaul of their existing Salon equipment and any associated services. The suppliers on this lot should be able to create and offer tailor-made planned Preventative maintenance program and Reactive maintenance plan where required by the member institutions.
Members have the right to utilise e-auctions during the further competition stage of the supplier selection.
