Whilst initially for use by local authorities and educational establishments served by YPO as Central Purchasing Bodies defined by the EU Combined Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC the Framework Agreement will be open to the entire public sector, other public bodies, such as the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Bodies and registered charities within the UK and to those central government departments and their agencies that wish to use it. Any OCB described below may utilise the resulting Framework Agreement from the commencement date.

Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Supply of Building Materials Framework is seeking providers who can support our customer’s needs when it comes to product range requirements, service and delivery. In today’s economic climate, public sector bodies have been challenge to provide a value for money service, to reduce waste and increase efficiencies. Our market research has shown there has been a significant move away from tendering for individual requirements towards a “One stop” solution especially for reactive maintenance needs. Modes of Delivery include delivery to customers designated sites and collection/trade counters. The description below endeavours to cover all products which come under the broad heading of “Building Supplies”, however there may be other products supplied by providers which fall under the scope; Building, Roofing and Landscaping, Timber, Hardware, Doors and Joinery, Fixings and associated items, Plumbing, Gas Fixings, Decorator and Electrical supplies.
