Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Wakefield Council is reshaping the current assessment process for assessing eligibility for a Blue Badge; moving away from requesting information from an applicant’s GP and instead offering independent mobility assessments by a trained health professional. This is in accordance with the Department of Transport best practice guidance.
With this in mind, Wakefield Council invites detailed tenders for the provision of conducting mobility assessments in line with the Department of Transport Blue Badge Scheme guidelines via a framework agreement. It is envisaged that the framework agreement will commence on 8.7.2015 and will be put in place for 2 years with the option to extend by a further 2 periods of 1 year, making the final possible expiry date 7.7.2019. The extensions will be offered at the discretion of Wakefield Council.

The estimated level of spend of GBP 340 000 is based on estimated Wakefield Council use only over the life of the agreement, if additional Local Authorities from within the Yorkshire and Humber region choose to access the agreement, the level of spend will increase accordingly.
