University seeks developer for Swansea Waterfront
University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is looking for development partners to form a joint venture for its mixed-use SA1 Swansea Waterfront site.The university, which has campuses in Lampeter, Carmarthen and Swansea, proposes to develop 23 acres of land at SA1 Swansea Waterfront, forming part of the dockside regeneration area (SA1 estate). Eight acres of the site have been set aside for a new waterfront campus to be built, the first phase of which has already started with a completion date of summer 2018.The joint venture will enable the development of the remaining 15 acres for residential and commercial use, with the possibility of incorporating existing tenanted commercial properties within the waterfront area.The aim is to form a jointly-owned development vehicle to build a mix of university buildings and commercial, residential and retail buildings.
