Up to 95 homes proposed for farm site
Proposals have been outlined for the development of up to 95 homes on the site of a farm in a West Midlands village.Cala Homes has lodged outline plans for a development at Oak Farm in Catherine De Barnes.The site is roughly rectangular in shape and measures approximately 7.8 acres.It contains a total of 22 buildings including two dwellings, all except one of which (Oak Farm Cottage) are proposed for demolition.It is envisaged that the scheme comprise predominantly two-storey buildings.Affordable housing would be provided but vacant building credit is being sought in relation to the vacant buildings on site, which will be considered as part of the application’s determination.A planning statement filed with Solihull Council said: “The outline proposal shows that development can provide an efficient use of the land and contribute to affordable and market housing when supply is constrained.”Great care has been taken to ensure that development respects and fits politely into the natural surroundings.”
