Village housing scheme recommended for approval
A housing scheme on the site of agricultural land in a Leicestershire village has been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.William Davis Ltd is seeking outline approval from Charnwood Borough Council to build 70 properties on an approximately 10.6 acres of land off Melton Road in Burton on the Wolds.Access is proposed via a new T junction onto Melton Road to the west of the allotments. It is accompanied by an illustrative masterplan that shows how the site could be developed for the level of housing proposed.The masterplan suggests a central access road serving a series of cul-de-sacs which provide access to blocks of housing.A feature square is proposed in the middle of the site with planted public open space around the edges.
