Vote set for job-creating energy centre
A vote is set to be held on proposals for an energy regeneration centre in Nottinghamshire which would support more than 600 jobs.The site of Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station in Green Street has been earmarked by applicant Uniper UK.Rushcliffe Borough Council’s planning committee is set to meet virtually on Thursday 8 October to vote on the proposals.Council officers have recommended councillors to vote that they have no objections to the plans.The EMERGE centre will be voted on by Nottinghamshire County Council in the coming weeks.If backed, the centre would generate 45 jobs on site once the facility is up and running.About 600 jobs would be supported during the construction phase.
