Ward Hadaway has defended a judicial review claim in respect of planning permission for a multimillion-pound garden village development in County Durham. The organisation’s built environment team provided advice during the planning application process and negotiated a section 106 agreement on behalf of Tolent and its subsidiary Coolmore Land for the £175m South Seaham project. The huge development will bring 1,500 homes to the area and include shops, a café, a primary school, a park and village square, community health and wellbeing village and business innovation and research hub.Working with Home Group, Tolent will build about 1,000 of the properties, of which 750 will be affordable. The ten-year project is expected to be home to some 4,000 residents and will create an estimated 1,000 jobs.
