Warrington housebuilder outlines acquisition plans
The housebuilder behind a trio of developments in the Warrington area has outlined ambitions to acquire additional land in a bid to satisfy demand.Timescales for Warrington’s Local Plan are yet to be finalised but a figure of 18,900 new homes by 2037 has been suggested. This would equate to almost 1,000 a year.Elan Homes believes it is well-placed to assist in the project has it looks to build on recent success. The company is fast approaching a sell-out at Culcheth Green, where what was once home to a truck dealership has been transformed into 15 executive properties. In Walton, an intimate gated development of 14 dwellings has been created on a former garden centre and restaurant site.Elsewhere, plans to provide 25 homes on a 21-acre site were progressed under an option agreement with a private landowner. A key benefit of the development is the creation of 16 acres of new parkland. The trio amount to a £700,000 affordable housing contribution.Elan’s northern business will consider development sites, with or without planning, up to 24.7 acres in size.
