Waste incinerator set for green light
Plans to build an energy-from-waste plant capable of incinerating 21,000 tonnes each year look set to be approved after the project received a positive recommendation from planning officers.The plans for the site in Morriston were submitted on behalf of Biffa by planning consultancy WYG.According to the company’s pre-application documents, the incinerator would generate 0.4 megawatts of power, enough for about 150 homes, and produce up to two heavy goods vehicle (HGV) loads of ash each week to send to landfill. The site would also create 15 jobs.
