Wates and Engie land £117m council contracts
Engie and Wates Living Space have won contracts worth more than £100m for the improvement, repair and maintenance of Tamworth Borough Council’s 4,200 council houses.A 10-year contract will see Wates Living Space carry out planned works including installing new kitchens, bathrooms and other renovations in a contract worth £50m. Engie has landed a £67m emergency repair contract for the local authority’s homes, also lasting 10 years.The contracts include requirements to carry out community DIY workshops and projects to provide enhanced and improved security for vulnerable residents, as well as helping to tackle fuel poverty and causes of damp and condensation.
