Westbury plans up for approval
Outline plans for a Westbury scheme are to go before committee.Westbury LVA LLP is behind the application, which concerns 23.2 acres of land at Glenmore Farm.Proposed is an outline application proposing the construction of up to 145 houses with a community orchard, children’s play areas, tree planting, habitat creation and ecology buffers and mitigation.A report drawn up ahead of Wiltshire Council’s planning committee meeting on 1 November notes that a “large number of objections to the development have been received including petitions, individual letters and reports compiled by consultants on behalf of certain local residents”.However, it goes on to say: “No significant or demonstrable harm has been identified that would outweigh the benefits (in the case of the provision of market and affordable housing, significant benefits) that this development would accrue.”In the absence of any identified planning harm, it is therefore recommended that this application be approved subject to the conditions listed below and the satisfactory completion of a s106 legal agreement containing the contributions identified in this report.”
