Wildanet outlines major Devon expansion plans

Wildanet has announced a major expansion into Devon, in a move designed to boost the internet connectivity of more than 25,000 homes and businesses across the area.The company is rapidly growing its fibre broadband network in the region and earlier this year, it began working in Totnes, South Devon, installing a new fibre network for the town.It is now working in more than 15 areas across Devon in addition to its significant roll-out in Cornwall.The full-scale move into Devon will see major investment in new digital infrastructure right across the county, initially connecting communities spanning from South Molton and Holsworthy in the north and west, to Yealmpton and Axminster in the south and east.As part of the move, Wildanet expects to create 60 jobs and is opening a 35,000 sq ft warehouse, comprising offices and logistics centre in Bideford.Chief executive Helen Wylde said: “This is an exciting announcement for us and a significant moment in the growth of the business and our ambitions to level up connectivity across the South West.”Wildanet has a clear mission to bring fast, reliable internet to homes and businesses in communities throughout Devon and Cornwall, with a vision of tackling digital inequality, removing the digital divide where it exists and working tirelessly to deliver digital connectivity to all.”Our work in the region is showing what can be achieved through commitment, innovation, our own investment and strategic partnerships with government.”
