Wind turbine manufacturer to develop Humber factory
A Spanish manufacturer of wind towers and industrial wind components is set to develop a new factory at Able Marine Energy Park (AMEP), creating hundreds of jobs.GRI Renewable Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding with Able UK to build a factory for the manufacture and supply of wind towers.The facility would initially supply initially 100 offshore towers per year, equivalent to 100,000 tons of steel.The total investment will reach about €100m (£8m) and is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs.The UK Government has guaranteed subsidies to support the project.
