Work begins on Sunderland full fibre project
Work to bring full fibre connectivity within reach of almost every home and business in Sunderland is underway.CityFibre has broken ground on a new infrastructure rollout designed to future-proof the city’s digital needs and further its smart city ambitions.The company is now coordinating advance works with Sunderland Council’s resurfacing programme across the city, ahead of the £62m build programme.Works will be brought forward by MAP Group on CityFibre’s behalf using a range of construction methods.The overall project is expected to reach completion by 2025.
