East Riding Council to seek approval for routeWork could start this year on the £6.5m third phase of the Brough Relief Road.East Riding Council is about to seek approval for the latest phase, which would improve access to Humber Enterprise Zone, ease town centre congestion and access land for development. The scheme is likely to come under close scrutiny from town councillors and residents, however.Parish Councillor Sue Duckles has questioned whether the route would actually be a “relief road”.Phase two of the relief road, which was completed last year, included building a bridge over the railway line, connecting the £200m Brough South site to the rest of Brough for the first time. The 125-acre site will feature 750 new homes, health facilities, a primary school, supermarket, pub, restaurants and business units.
