Work due to begin on griff works development
Plans for a £24m housing development on the site of a former ceramics factory have been approved, with the first homes set to be ready by early 2018.Wakefield-based housebuilder Avant Homes will build 62 sustainable and energy-efficient properties at the former Griff Works factory site on the outskirts of Stannington.The development on Stopes Road will be known as The Brickworks and will contain a mixture of two and three-bedroom semi-detached, four-bedroom townhouses and a range of four and five-bedroom detached properties.The first homes in the £24m development are expected to be ready for occupation by February 2018 and as part of the planning conditions, Avant Homes will make a £840,000 contribution to off-site affordable housing and a £264,000 Community Infrastructure Levy contribution.
