Work due to start on new Huddersfield stadium development

The transformation of land around Kirklees Stadium is set to begin as a construction firm is appointed to deliver the scheme.Kirklees Stadium Development Ltd has signed a joint venture agreement with Elland-based Commercial Development Projects Limited to deliver The HD One scheme.The HD One scheme will bring a mixture of retail, leisure and food and drink businesses to the surrounding areas.KSDL and CDP have created a joint venture company ‘The HD One Kirklees Limited’ which will build the scheme. The HD One Kirklees Limited will be chaired by Sir John Harman who was previously chairman of KSDL and leader of Kirklees Council.KSDL has also been working exclusively with CDP’s sister company Marshall Construction on finalising the scheme.The HD One Leisure Scheme is due to be fully open in late 2020, though elements of the scheme, such as additional car parking and the hotel, are expected to open earlier.
