Work set to begin on latest phase of Nottinghams council-led housebuilding scheme
Work is set to begin on on the latest phase of Nottingham’s biggest council-led housebuilding scheme in 40 years.A sod cutting ceremony was held on the site in Lenton, where 21 affordable homes will be constructed under the Building a Better Nottingham programme.MP for Nottingham South Lilian Greenwood joined Councillor Alex Ball, executive assistant with responsibility for housing at Nottingham City Council, and local councillors on site to officially break the ground, alongside representatives from Nottingham City Homes (NCH), Nottingham City Council (NCC) and Keepmoat.Keepmoat will deliver 17 affordable homes for rent on Church Square, with an additional four apartments on Willoughby Street. The new homes will replace both residential and commercial properties.
