Work starts on £14m refurbishment of Cheshire estate

The £13.9m redevelopment of Sutton Way, in Ellesmere Port, has started, which will enable tenants to enjoy new and improved homes.A partnership between progressive landlord ForHousing and Cheshire West and Chester Council will see work carried out on 10 low rise apartment blocks to improve the layout and appearance of the estate and tackle anti-social behaviour.The project will involve extensive refurbishment work on all the blocks, improvements to the exterior of the apartments and the introduction of new modern buildings.Three of the blocks will be re-modelled, with some sections of the buildings being removed and replaced with 16 new-build two-bedroom homes.There will also be improvements to the car park, landscaping around the homes, bin storage, door entry system, CCTV, security and the addition of features to help reduce noise.Property services business Liberty Group has been appointed as the principal contractor to deliver the works.
