Work starts on £2.1m school extension
Works has started on a £2.1m project to create extra teaching space at a Sheffield primary school.The extension of Totley Primary School is being undertaken by the regeneration arm of energy and services expert ENGIE (formerly Keepmoat Regeneration) on behalf of Sheffield City Council.A new two-storey teaching block will be built to the rear of the school, located adjacent to Baslow Road, creating space for four additional classrooms, a staff room, a media suite and a dual food technology and science lab, all linked to the existing school by a new glazed corridor.A separate single storey extension will also be constructed off the existing main corridor of the school to provide two new infant classrooms and a new library.The project is due to complete at the end of August 2018, ready for the start of the new school term in September.
