Work starts on 29 new affordable homes in Nuneaton

Construction has started on a development of 29 affordable rent homes in Nuneaton to help meet local affordable housing demand.Delivered for Citizen, the £3.3 million scheme will provide a variety of housing types to create a thriving new community for families and older people.Built by Seddon and designed by Walker Troup architects, the development comprises six two-bedroom and 13 three-bedroom houses, as well as a block of 10 two-bedroom apartments.All of the homes will feature uPVC doors and windows, as well as fully insulated floors, walls, and lofts to help lower residents’ energy bills.Seddon will install new fixtures and fittings, decorate the new homes, and carry out external works including lighting, hard and soft landscaping, and the creation of new access roads. Work is scheduled to complete in Q2 2022.Triton Road is part of Citizen’s commitment to building affordable homes in areas across the West Midlands where they are most needed.Located south of the town centre, the development is in close proximity to excellent community facilities, such as Pingles Leisure Park, Wembrook Community Centre, and several nurseries, primary schools, and secondary schools.Triton Road is one of several live sites that Seddon is delivering for Citizen. In Coventry, the construction of six new, affordable rent bungalows located on brownfield land on Everdon Road is due to complete in Q2 2021.Part of £25 million a transformation of Coventry’s Riley Square and Bell Green district centre, work is nearing completion on Almond Tree Avenue, where 36 mixed-tenure homes are being delivered for local people and families. The £3.7 million project will hand over in summer 2021.Meanwhile, work is progressing on a development of 11 new-build houses on Clifton Street. Comprising five two-bedroom, four three-bedroom and two four-bedroom houses for affordable rent, the project is also due to complete in the summer.
