Work starts on £9m sports sector development
Work has started on a £9m development for the UK’s sports sector in Loughborough, which is expected to support hundreds of jobs.Contractor Henry Brothers Midlands has been appointed to build SportPark Pavilion 4, which will total approximately 21,500 sq ft and extend the existing five-storey SportPark facility.The site, which will provide accommodation for sports organisations, features sustainability measures such as heat pumps, triple-glazed windows, solar shading and insulated building fabric.The project will increase the floorspace of the existing five-storey building by 25 per cent and will directly support 165 jobs with an additional 157 induced roles in the wider economy.The project is scheduled for completion in the winter of 2022.
