Kier, alongside local subcontractors and consultants, have assisted in the remodelling and redevelopment of the after school space at Hannah More Primary School in Bristol.
Works included a bright new paint job, new kitchen area, and dedicated activity and reading areas with the additional of innovative acoustical leaves which minimise any noise to the surrounding area of the school.
Over the course of the three day project 15 volunteers from Kier, subcontractors, and consultants helped to being to life the new school designs, developed by AWW Architects, with charitable donations to assist the school including the delivery of a new kitchen, including fridge freezer and dish washer.
The Operations Director of Kier Regional Building Western and Wales, David Snell stated: “It is great to see so many people come together to help transform this important space for the school. It is important for us to work with the community in the areas in which we work and lend our support and expertise to in any way we can.
“The new space will enable the students to do cooking and art in their after-school club, and the room will also be used for parents who are having English lessons. I am pleased that together with our consultant and sub-contractor partners that we were able to deliver an area for the youngsters to use after school that provides a supportive and inspirational environment.”
The Headteacher of Hannah More Primary School, Sue Ramsay added: “This has been a wonderful project that will benefit so many of our children. Staff from Kier did an amazing job and the new room looks fantastic.
“As well a smart new room we’ve also gained a very practical space with a brand-new kitchen and lots of storage. There was lots of enthusiasm from the children when they came back to school this week. Many thanks to Kier for such excellent community support.”
