Major regeneration in Feltham

A major regeneration project in Feltham, west London, is set to unlock one of the area’s largest brownfield sites. The Ministry of Defence, Hounslow Council, and the Greater London Authority have agreed a partnership to deliver 3,000 new homes, commercial and creative spaces, and enhanced public transport and community facilities. Construction is planned to begin in 2028.
The development, forming the centrepiece of Hounslow Council’s ‘Future Feltham’ masterplan, will integrate affordable housing with commercial and creative sectors, creating up to 9,200 new jobs. The project also includes new leisure, community, and green spaces, improving the local environment and connectivity.
The MOD will continue investment in its operational infrastructure while releasing land for housing, following a trailblazer approach to public sector development. This strategy brings together national, regional, and local government to accelerate housebuilding and infrastructure delivery.
Catherine Davies of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation said the partnership allows for creative and sustainable outcomes while enabling reinvestment across the MOD estate. Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, emphasised the project’s potential to deliver economic, social, and construction opportunities across London.
For contractors, developers, and suppliers, the Feltham scheme presents a significant pipeline of work, including residential construction, infrastructure, public realm improvements, and community facilities. The project illustrates the scale of opportunity available when public sector bodies collaborate on brownfield redevelopment, combining housing, commercial development, and infrastructure upgrades in a single programme.
