New homes for Wychavon Town

Homes England and Summix have reached a significant project milestone as Wychavon District Council has validated two outline planning applications for the new settlement of Wychavon Town.
This procedural progression initiates the statutory consultation phase, engaging statutory consultees and the public in formal consideration of the extensive proposals. The development aims to deliver up to 5,500 homes within a masterplanned community that will encompass a bespoke town centre, employment land, mixed-use spaces, educational and healthcare amenities, advanced green and blue infrastructure, and comprehensive transport and active travel linkages.
This proposal represents a central element of the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review, which seeks to allocate approximately 10,000 homes to address long-term regional housing demands. The strategic scale of the Wychavon Town initiative is underpinned by many years of partnership among Homes England, Summix, local authorities, and Worcestershire County Council, with the ultimate objective of creating a sustainable settlement designed to meet residential, economic, and infrastructure needs for at least the next four decades.
Senior representatives from both Homes England and Summix have underscored the significance of the outline planning submission, highlighting its role in moving the project from a conceptual to a delivery phase. The framework established by these applications is intended to ensure that the new settlement at Worcestershire Parkway – now identified as Wychavon Town – can advance as a well-connected, economically robust community. The comprehensive nature of the applications is structured to provide a platform for high-quality placemaking, supporting not only housing but also employment opportunities, social facilities, and resilient transport links, including integrated walking and cycling routes.
