Automated Clinical Chemistry Analyser – Very Short Deadline
Type of document: Contract Notice
Country: United Kingdom
1. Title: AUTOMATED CLINICAL CHEMISTRY ANALYSER – VERY SHORT DEADLINE
2. Awarding Authority: University of Ulster. Biomedical Sciences Research Institute, Email: l.mcneill@ulster.ac.uk (Lynn McNeill).
3. Contract type: Supply contract
Open
4. Description: The awarding authority is a centre of excellence for pioneering research into the mechanisms behind human degenerative disease.
Our Research Groups focus on: Diabetes; Food & Health; Genomic Medicine; Pharmaceutical Science & Practice; Stratified Medicine; and Optometry. Multi-disciplinary collaboration results in research into, for instance, anti-diabetic and anti-oncogenic aspects of nutrition, the genomics of vitamin receptors and cancer, and the interactions among diet, diabetes, dementia, vision, hypertension and vascular disease.
There is a need to supply an automated clinical analyser as a replacement for the currently-used analyser, an I-Lab 650. The Awarding Authority require an instrument of comparable or higher specification, capable of performing both the commercial assays and the in-house developed tests currently performed in awarding authority.
Performance
Analysis:
The instrument must perform spectrophotometric and immunoturbidimetric assays with end-point and kinetic analysis and permit the use of multiple calibrators.
The system must be able to function reliably with multiple matrices, including but not limited to: blood and blood products, cell supernatants, urine, breast milk and faecal water, in human and animal models. All human analytes must be reliably quantified in the clinically-relevant range.
The instrument should provide at least 50 channels, of which 15 must be open for flexible programming. It must allow multiple reagent additions and extended reaction/incubation times, and permit access to raw OD data. It must flag results outside analytical range, linearity failures, substrate exhaustion and noise errors. It must offer on-board pre-dilution of samples and user-configurable automatic re-run (e.g., when outside analytical range). The system must provide an on-board log for calibration and QC data, and permit review of these data.
Proof must be provided of multi-lab validation for commercially available.
