Description: To understand the current and future market direction for a fully automated Blood Grouping, antibody screening, immunohaematology solution and reagents for the purposes of patient and donor testing in a blood establishment. Alternative innovative approaches to ways of working and testing will be considered. This exercise is to inform the development of a specification and business case.
Testing to be performed:
ABO Grouping (forward and reverse )and RhD typing.
Rh/K, (C, c, E, e,) phenotyping
Extended antigen typing
Red Cell Antibody Screening & Identification
DAT Testing (including monospecific DAT)
High titre Anti-A and Anti-B testing
Antibody screening of blood for neonatal use
Serial dilutions for titration studies
Cross-matching
Haemoglobin S detection
Service is prepared to consider relatable and innovative solutions.
No contract will be committed to at this stage via the publication of this Prior Information Notice (PIN)
The Trust plans to proceed with this approach purely to verify the level of available competition and gather credible market information to support current and future strategic direction.
The information gathered shall be used to support the development of an analysis paper only and production and approval of this paper will not grant authority to commit expenditure on behalf of the Trust
Via the publication of the PIN, the Trust aims to assure itself of the level of available competition and obtain indicative charges from suppliers that may support the further development of a Business Case.
