This is phase 2 of a project that started 2017 with the introduction of a CRM with associated SharePoint capability using Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SharePoint and NINTEX docs and workflow. This next phase is development of a database that will link with these systems. The database is required for the work of the Awarding Authority. The awarding authority is a new initiative, funded by the National Institute for Health Research and based at Newcastle University. We bring together, in one centre, data scientists, evidence synthesis analysts and text mining specialists to observe and report on health innovation in the UK and beyond utilising next generational digital analytics. The Innovation Observatory is hosted by the National Centre for Smart Data Innovation and National Innovation Centre for Ageing, an investment by central government. A database is required to replace the current Microsoft SQL server database and bespoke application to manage the horizon scanning activity of the innovation observatory and related outputs.
