Description: The awarding authority is seeking to engage with a private investor for the development of a Diagnostic Imaging Academy and associated diagnostic facilities, and equipment to deliver an innovative type of diagnostic imaging education programme incorporating a purpose built, dedicated diagnostic centre that will support the training of students locally, improve the learning experience of the students whilst expanding diagnostic imaging facilities. The concept is to deliver academic educational training, utilising some virtual reality modality training, which will be unique in the specified location at this time. It will be combined with a purpose built diagnostic centre where the students can develop basic clinical skills in an environment that is controlled and less pressured than in the acute sector but developing their skills alongside clinical staff, imaging ambulant out-patients rather than mannequins. The financing of the project could be from a private investor; this could enable the building aspect to be completed at little or no cost to Awarding authority with an agreed payment mechanism starting when the facility generates income.
