Single stage – Any candidate may submit a tender.
4. Description: We are requesting quotes for an exhibition trailer meeting the following requirements as a minimum:
Standard Exhibition Trailer (No branding required as will all be done internally by AU Design Team).
Chassis:
5.5m length x 2.4m width Twin axle close coupled braked trailer with flat floor and rated to 3000kg gross design weight – in standard white base colour with aluminium trim.
All solid steel construction, hot dip galvanizes with 4 wind down corner steadies over run brakes, rubber torsion suspension and all road lights, reflectors etc to meet current construction and use regulations.
Standard trailer once fitted out will have an electrical hook up point (16amp ceeform socket) which can be used for mains or generator.
Body:
Constructed from smooth white grp faced ply core panels assembled with all anodizes aluminium extrusions to provide a clean and easily maintained body finish.
To the offside of the body is a manually operated 3.6m wide slide out ‘pod’ extension and service personnel door, with slide out step (caravan style) no handrail.
To the front end is an all fibre glass aero-end over the towing frame providing a 600mm extension of length accessed from inside the trailer (perfect for a galley kitchen).
To the nearside is the main entrance consisting of bi-fold externally hinged entrance doors with secondary internally opening fully glazed bi-fold doors to enable temperature control and security in the trailer when it is deployed.
Over the entrance is a top hinged, full length daylight canopy supported on gas struts. There is a hinged 550mm deep fascia panel mounted on the canopy for branding purposes.
At each end of the trailer are lift off wing panels to provide additional branding opportunities. In transit these are stored on suitably bracketry at the back end of the trailer.
There are entrance steps and handrail provided for entrance into the trailer.
Must have uprated suspension to 3500kg.
Flagpoles and brackets as an optional extra – 2 x 6m sectional aluminium flagpoles, with rotating arms for the alternative top and pole to ensure flag always flies.
Hinged 550mm deep facia panel supported by gas struts and mounted on the canopy for branding purposes to be shaped as one long rectangle (and not with extra square piece).
Interior Fit out:
1500mm recessed unit for nose cone.
Incorporating sink with folding tap and lid, submersible pump and clean and waste water carriers.
Wood effect non-slip vinyl floor.
Serving counter.
Hinged screening panel over serving counter.
Flip top bin.
240v – 10 x 12v recessed light set in pvc trunking, 4 x double socket.
A twin reverse L shaped seating unit (1200mm+ 500mm) with storage under and twin coffee table features.
Full height wardrobe with high level shelf, hanging rail and lockable door – n/s/r.
1800mm wide x 900mm high x 400mm deep base unit cupboards across remainder of rear panel
2 x slat wall panel.
50” Flat Screen LED TV supply and installation as an optional extra.
Platform, Ramp and Handrails (to be transported in rear of IVECO Daily 351s15v 3520/3520L van) (Total Weight Usually C. 380kg):
5mt x 2mt clip on aluminium platform with integral legs and non-slip wood effect vinyl surface ( 4 x 2mt x 1mt sections).
3mt x 1000mm Alucore access ramp with non-slip wood effect vinyl surface.
35mm handrails with cross member and polycarbonate infill’s.
Flexible access configuration required – Must also be capable of being configured without platform i.e. with steps, handrail and ramp only for narrower event pitches.
6kva Super Silent Trolley Mounted Diesel Generator. (To be transported within payload of Van – for use when electrical hook up not available).
*NB* Gross weight of braked Trailer must not exceed 3,500kg.
Event Branding Material, Banners etc and Outdoor Props/Garden Furniture. (Up to a maximum of 500kg can be transported within the trailer as empty trailer weight is 3,000kg).

The budget for this purchase is set at £40,000.00 (inc VAT) and any bids over this amount may be disregarded at the University’s discretion.
Please confirm the warranty details for this trailer and also if there are any service requirements. With regards to the service requirements, if any, would they need to be carried out by the original supplier or would an approved company nearer to Aberystwyth be acceptable.
Please note that the award criteria for this trailer is 100% price excluding VAT (please quote on this basis) ie. lowest overall price.
The University reserves the right to accept any or all of a tenderers proposal and/or not to make any award under this request for quote. I/We understand that the University reserves the right to accept or refuse this Tender whether it is lower, the same, or higher than any other Tender. Additionally, I/We accept that the University does not undertake to accept any tender, that submitting a tender does not create a contract (implied or otherwise), that the University will not be responsible for any losses and that the University reserves the right to terminate, amend or otherwise vary the procurement at any time.
