A large majority of Commonwealth Games expenditure budget (approximately $2 billion) will relate to procurement activities, offering a wide range of business opportunities for UK suppliers. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Partners are seeking expression of interest in relevant work packages if you have capability within the specific categories below. The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) will be staged from 4 -15 April 2018. There are 71 Commonwealth countries competing in GC2018 across a range of sports. Approximately 80% of venues will be on the Gold Coast. However some events will be held at other venues in Queensland, including track cycling and shooting in Brisbane and basketball preliminaries in Townsville and Cairns. Goods and services related to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games may extend throughout the State of Queensland with the primary location points being Gold Coast, Brisbane and to a lesser extent, Cairns, Townsville and possibly regional centres. Collaboration between Games partners is an integral part of GC2018 given the complexities, synergies, risk of duplication and specific procurement requirements. Games partners include the following tiers of Government associated with delivering the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games: Queensland State Government (budget sector agencies and Statutory Bodies); Local Government; and Federal Government.
