The police require 2 hovercrafts for law enforcement use.
They should:
have twin engines for lift and propulsion
have marine grade aluminium alloy hull structure
be diesel fuelled
be fully amphibious, riding on an air-cushion
not contain any asbestos or asbestos containing materials
have a partially covered cockpit for 8 people
have a payload of at least 950kg
They will be used:
in areas covering mudflats, mangrove swamps, rocky foreshores, open water and transitions between all these conditions
to prevent and detect crime, performing law enforcement and observation duties including immigration and smuggling
