The Awarding Authority have been awarded Specified main works civils contracts, lots S1 and S2.
We are now looking to engage with the supply chain who can provide Gantry Cranes to a high specification and in sufficient quantities to meet the requirements of safety, quality and programme.
Due to volumes, locations and simultaneous operations of these works, SCS Railways Ltd reserve the opportunity to tender and procure sub lot contracts across the length of the of S1 and S2 works
Full details and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of this project and should assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works, prior to completing this expression of interest (EOI).
The scope of supply shall be the provision of c9no. gantry cranes
Cable reefing mechanical: 2 x 2/1 – hook distance app. 1.500 mm
Control cabin + radio control
All cranes work with Vacuum lifter
Including Rails
Power supply to the hook
Noise protected

Successfully shortlisted supplier’s will be those with verifiable experience, and the appropriate resources to deliver the scope of works. Supplier’s may then be invited to the project, to formally demonstrate their experience and capabilities. As an alternative phone/webinar interviews may be conducted.
Shortlisted suppliers will be sent a PQQ request and successful suppliers will be invited to a competitive tender for the works and services whereby final selection will be based upon a balanced scorecard assessment. The criteria of this assessment will consider quantitative and qualitative evidence supplied by tenderer’s.
On selection, shortlisted supplier’s will be issued with a formal Invitation to Tender (ITT) to demonstrate their ability to work with these values and behaviours in mind, whilst proving their demonstration of capabilities and competence
About the buyer:
We are an unincorporated joint venture between Skanska, Costain and Strabag working on HS2 main works civil engineering contract, currently in the early contractor involvement stage for Section 1 and Section 2 of the planned HS2 route.
