A contractor for the government is looking for companies that can provide medical equipment
In 2017, the northern regions of Peru were affected by “El Niño” phenomenon, which led to the flooding of many cities and the destruction of national critical infrastructure.
In June 2020, the Department for International Trade (DIT) signed a government-to-government (G2G) agreement with Peru to provide technical assistance for the reconstruction of the country’s public services facilities.
Under this G2G agreement, the Authority for Reconstruction with Changes has already awarded 15 healthcare facilities (9 hospitals and 6 health centres) in the regions of Piura, Ancash, Lambayeque, La Libertad and Lima.
Awarded companies are responsible for the reconstruction and/or refurbishment (design, construction and equipment) of hospitals of categories: I-3, I-4 and II-1.
Contractors are now looking for manufacturers and suppliers of medical equipment for health service units in:
emergencies
obstetrics centre
surgical centre
hospitalisation for example beds, cradles, isolation units and incubators
pharmacy
sterilisation
medical imaging
clinical pathology
hemotherapy and blood banks
pathological anatomy
rehabilitation medicine
cold chain
gas supply centre
environmental health
These are opportunities in the immediate and medium term, as many of the projects are in the design and construction stage.
