4. Description: The Awarding Authority carries out spatial and temporal surveys of intertidal and coastal features for the purposes of Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessment and monitoring. This specification document will seek to introduce an alternative method of data capture, using remote sensing, that will support the collection of data for WFD Seagrass, Macroalgal Bloom, Saltmarsh and habitat assessment. The procurement of a suitable Fixed Wing UAV and integrated software solution will provide a safe remote data capture solution where a site has accessibility or Health and Safety issues. It will also enable sites to be monitored more frequently. It is envisaged that the solution will complement and enhance MAT’s current data capture methods and provide improvement with regard to the overall mapping capability.
