5. Description: The Awarding Authority require a mass flow controller system for investigations as part of work package 5 of the WEFO-funded RICE project, which focusses on the interaction between heat and hydrogen and the role that this can play in reducing industrial and other carbon emissions in Wales, together with efficient end-use solutions for hydrogen in industrial, transport and heat applications. Hence the work package also includes the efficient and cost-effective implementation of hydrogen technologies for carbon reduction. To facilitate some of this activity, a new solid oxide fuel cell demonstration facility will be set up within the Sustainable Environment Research Centre at USW. This will enable a range of R&D activities to take place and provide a basis for further R&D grant applications in collaboration with industrial partners. In particular, we require that the system is able to conduct demonstrations across a wide range of complex fuel mixtures at an appropriate scale, and therefore we require a suitable mass flow controller manifold that enables this.
