A clay barge with an open shaped hull hopper and is required by Waterways Ireland to assist with construction and maintenance works on the Grand Canal. Its hopper section will be used to transport earth, sand, gravel and other such materials up and down canal sections to assist in activities such as toe-path conversion for use as tarmacked cycle/walkways as well as for dredging and general canal maintenance.
