This research activity requires high resolution imaging of materials and devices under vacuum as well as under a wide range of application relevant, environmental conditions. Rapid turnaround with controlled sample transfers from local processing and fabrication facilities is thereby essential to drive fast materials and device development cycles. Hence the University is now seeking to purchase a Field Emission Gun SEM (FESEM) that allows high-performance imaging and characterisation of a wide range of materials and devices in vacuum as well as in reactive conditions and atmospheres.
