Northern Gas Networks currently have an existing contract with 5 suppliers to provide leakage repair sealants to assist in its operational requirements. Following expiry of the existing framework agreement on 30/06/2021, a single source contract extension is now required. The current specifications for these products (GIS/LC1:2018) is currently under review with BSI (British Standards Institute), the revised document is due to be published later on this year. As a result, NGN would like to extend the existing contract for a further 12 months to ensure compliance with the new standards and until a tender event can be conducted with the correct standards. NGN will conduct a full tender event during the course of this extension provision and once the standards have been approved, in order to be compliant with NGN’s procurement policy and the UCR 2016.
